Process
Behind the shot.
It was hard for me to create convincing lipsync acting, because I was missing some simple things that make all the difference, like the pauses before speaking, which let the character think about what they’re going to answer. The silences show that the character is thinking for themselves.
The eyes are the most important part of acting. This shot was the application of everything I had learned, condensed into one single shot.
Doing this shot with my mentor wasn’t just about doing, it was: why am I making this decision rather than another?
